Garath Bryne
Allegiance: The Light, Andor, Egwene al'Vere.
Title(s): Captain General of Queens Guards, Prince Regent. Lord of House Bryne.
Bluff, stocky and blocky. His hair is heavy with grey. He looks as strong and immovable as a rock. He is the local lord of Kore Springs.
He served three queens as Captain General of the Queen's Guards and served two as Prince Regent including both to Morgase. However this information is not supported elswhere. Garath Bryne became Captain-General when Aranvor Nalwinn died on the third day of Blood Snow while leading the coalition forces in 978 NE. Morgase became queen in 973 NE. Prince Regent Taringail died in 984 NE.
Garath personally commanded the guards that were sent to arrest Thom Merrilin. During his time with Morgase he shared her love and her bed. When Rahvin arrived in Caemlyn, Garath was retired to his estate. He was sent from Caemlyn, never to set foot there again on pain of death on the charge of treason, never to be spoken of again in the Palace.
The last of the line of Bryne, he has no children and no-one will carry on his name. He chased after Siuan to Salidar not knowing who she was, but entranced by her eyes. He was convinced to became General of the Tower in Exile army, preparing to lay seige to the White Tower, yet his allegiance now lays with Egwene. He and Siuan appear to have fallen in love.
His personal sigal is three, five pointed, golden stars. The sigal of House Bryne is a bull, with the Rose Crown around its neck.
Admer Nem
Stout with lank thinning hair, he sometimes drinks too much. A farmer from Kore Springs, where Garath Bryne is Lord. He had his barn burned down with his cows in it and a purse of money stolen when Min, Siuan, Leane and Logain stayed there. His wife is Maigan and he has brothers and cousins who live with him.
Barim Halle
Allegiance: The Light, Garath Bryne.
A leather faced ex-soldier with white eyebrows, he is hard and wiry and very big. He served under Garath Bryne and now lives in Kore Springs. He went with Garath, following Siuan, Leane and Min to Salidar. When he has some information but is uncertain about whether to say it, he sticks his tongue in his cheek, but doesn't realise he does it.
Caralin
Allegiance: The Light, House Bryne.
Slim and as old as Garath Bryne, she has run the Bryne estate for many years, acting on his behalf as local Lord.
Jar Silvin
A grey haired man who went with Garath Bryne after Siuan, Leane and Min.
Joni Shagrin
Allegiance: The Light, Garath Bryne.
Title(s): Senior Bannerman.
Very wide and as hard as an old oak stump. He is old, with a few white hairs left. The former Senior Bannnerman of the Queen's Guards under Garath Bryne, he has daughters with children. He lives in Kore Springs and went with Garath, following Siuan, Leane and Min to Salidar.
Maigan Nem
Round faced and rounded like a frying pan, but not soft. She is the outspoken wife of Admer whom she wacks when he gets drunk.
Sela
Garath Bryne's bed chamber maid. She is getting a bit old to do such a job.
Thad Haren
Allegiance: The Light, Garath Bryne.
Over 70 with a face like crumpled leather, he is the brick maker in Kore Springs. An ex-soldier, he "can track yesterday's wind across stone by midnight." He has a son who has now taken over the business. He followed Garath after Siuan, Leane and Min.
