The Caemlyn Road was not very different from the North Road through the Two Rivers.
It was considerably wider, of course, and showed the wear of much more use, but it was still hard-packed dirt. There was considerable traffic on the road, wagons and carts,
people on horses and people afoot.

Ackley Farren
A man who once got so drunk he spent the night on the inn roof of Market Sheran

Alpert Mull
Allegiance: The Light, The Queen.

A stolid man with a square face and square hands, both of which are grooved and worn from hard work and worry.

He is a farmer who doesn't think life is getting any easier. He gave Rand and Mat a lift along the Caemlyn road and a scarf each.

He has a wife and children.

Almen Bunt
Allegiance: The Light, The Queen.
Favorite Saying: Even a blind pig finds an acorn sometimes.

He has a leathery face, with alot of wrinkles. Half his teeth are gone and he has gnarled hands, but they are still steady.

A good queen's man but doesn't like Aes Sedai. He carries a quarterstaff for protection and can be observant.

Able to talk endlessly. He gave Rand and Mat a lift to Caemlyn in his cart from The Goose and Crown inn. He was going to see Logain Ablar presented to The Queen.

Almen doesn't much like Raimun Holdwin and those he associates with.

Bartim
The fat and balding innkeeper of The Wayfarer's Rest in Whitebridge. He has corns and bunions on his feet which make standing painful. Not very honest or interested in keeping a clean inn.

Eazil Forney
A farmer who drank too much at an inn in Arien, on the Caemlyn road, and stayed the night. The next morning he gave Rand and Mat a lift a few miles towards Caemlyn on his cart.

Else Grinwell
Allegiance: The Light, Any good looking boy.

Dark haired, big eyed and pretty with an impudent grin. Almost Rand's age.

The daughter of Master and Mistress Grinwell. She liked the look of Rand which made him very nervous. She later went to the White Tower to study, but she was more interested in watching the Warders than learning anything.

Howal Gode
Allegiance: The Dark One.

Sleekly plumb with a soft look to his pale hands.

A rich merchant from Whitebridge and a Darkfriend with an expensive cut to his clothes and a ring on each finger. Very smug and sure of himself with a sleek "full of itself" voice.

He chased Rand and Mat until he found them at The Dancing Cartman in Four Kings. While trying to capture them he was killed by a lightning strike to the inn. His reward for finding Rand and Mat from Ba'alzamon was not what he expected, but hopefully what he deserved.

Hyam Kinch
Allegiance: The Light, The Queen.

Leathery faced farmer living approximately 2 days from Caemlyn. Taciturn and reasonably intelligent he doesn't talk much around his pipe. He has a wife and his kids have grown up. He gave Rand and Mat a lift in his cart after Rand 's reaction to channeling (fever & nausia).

Jak
Allegiance: Money.

Hard-faced with arms and shoulders big enough for a blacksmith. A bouncer at The Dancing Cartman in Four Kings along with Strom. He is very effective at his job, but his choice of employer leaves alot to be desired.

Master Grinwell
Allegiance: The Light, His Family.

A sturdy farmer along the Caemlyn road. He has a wife and nine children - the eldest being Else and the youngest barely walking. A good honest man who is always ready to help.

Master Inlow
The Innkeeper of The Queen's Man. A good honest man who needs prodding to give help sometimes. He allowed Rand and Mat to stay in the stable as long as a sick Rand (caused by channeling) was kept away from his customers.

Mili Skane
Allegiance: The Dark One.
Title(s): Lady Shiaine Avarhin.

Pretty in a sharp featured way with a face that lacks feeling. Twenty Two years of age, she dresses in silk and lace and has a self assured manner: on the point of giving a command.

She was a saddler's daughter from a village near Whitebridge, and went to the White Tower at 15. When she was told she couldn't channel, she became a darkfriend. She killed Lord Willim Avarhin and his daughter before taking their name. Within one year she had made her first official kill and joined a Circle in Caemlyn. She now heads her own circle and has become one of the best assissins - with 20 kills - and a very good hunter.

She tried to kill Mat in the stable of The Queen's Man with a dagger that burns wood. She was later sent to Ebou Dar to help Jaichim Carridin to find Rand. Jaichim failed and Mili later killed him. She has taken a merchant's house in Caemlyn, with the owner signing everything over to Mili before being killed. At the bidding of Moridin, she has Falion as a servant and is maneouvering Daved Hanlon within the Caemlyn Palace.

The sigal of House Avarhin is a red heart and a golden hand.

Mistress Grinwell

Allegiance: The light.

Yellow hair, and a motherliness likened to Marin al'Vere. Doesn't like her daughter's flurting ways. She has nine children from almost Rand's age to barely walking.

Mother Brune
Allegiance: The Light.
Title(s): Mother.

The healing woman from the same village as Master Inlow.

Paitr Conel
Allegiance: The Dark One.

A bit older than Rand, he has a thick head of dark curls and a cocky spring to his walk. A village youth in Market Sheran and a darkfriend, his clothes were feast day in appearance with unscuffed leather boots.

He was sent to confront or capture Rand and Mat in the local inn, but was punched by Rand, breaking his nose. He then accidentally announced his allegiance to the world, creating a big stir in the small village.

Later in Amadicia, he and the person he said was his uncle, Jen/Torwyn Barshaw, devised a way to help Morgase escape from the Fortress of Light. Morgase made him a page boy, but they were caught and hanged as darkfriends by The Children of the Light before the plan could be carried out.

Raimun Holdwin
Allegiance: The Dark One.

Innkeeper of The Goose and Crown, one day from Caemlyn. A darkfriend, he converses with Myddraal when neccesary but not without much fear.

Not a very good liar, he tends to over do the story. He believes Almen Bunt is a fool.

Rulan Allwine
Allegiance: The Light.

Stout, with sagging jowls. The innkeeper of a very clean inn in Market Sheran - a day east of Four Kings. He wears a gleeming white apron.

Rand and Mat stayed there on the way to Caemlyn. It was in this inn, that they were approached by Paitr.

Saml Hake
Allegiance: Money.

The bony innkeeper of The Dancing Cartman in Four Kings. He has long stringy hair to his shoulders.

With a greasy apron that hangs to his ankles and a dirty inn, he shows that he cares little for anything but money. He scowls at most people, being rude at the best of times and treats his staff badly. Not at all a nice person, but not alligned with The Dark One. He is simply a mean and greedy person.

He allowed Rand and Mat to entertain his patrons for food and beds, but all the while looking to rob them of Rand 's sword and Thom's flute with the help of his two bouncers Jak and Strom. He was thwarted by Howal Gode and his own cowardice.

Strom
Allegiance: Money.

Hard-faced with arms and shoulders big enough for a blacksmith. A bouncer at The Dancing Cartman in Four Kings along with Jak. He is very effective at his job, but his choice of employer leaves alot to be desired.
