"House Damodred had a deservedly unpleasant reputation before Laman
cut down Avendoraldera and lost the throne and his life for it.
Since the Aiel War, it has grown worse, also deservedly."

Barthanes Damodred
Allegiance: The Dark One, Power.
Title(s): High Seat of House Damodred.

Half a head shorter than Rand (approx 6'2"), he held his head with his chin up so he looked down his nose through black pebble like eyes. Slim and handsome with long greying hair, he had stripes on his coat to his knees.

A darkfriend, he was torn to pieces and his head left on a spike over his bedroom fireplace (it is thought a gholam did this). His personal sigal was a charging boar.

After his death, his palace became the site of the Acadamy.

Caraline Damodred
Allegiance: The Light, Cairhien.
Title(s): High Seat of House Damodred.

Short and slender with large dark eyes, she is a pale beauty. She has a throaty voice, and looks similar to Moiraine with a stone on a chain in the middle of her forehead.

With stripes to below her knees, she was in rebellion in the foothills of the Dragonwall with Toram Riatin, refusing to leave Cairhien.

When a bubble of evil hit her encampment her army disappated. She and Darlin helped to get a wounded Rand back to the Palace. Cadsuane had both of them penned in Arilyn's palace, but Dobraine organised for them to escape to Tear, under Rand's orders. After leading Darlin around for awhile she will marry him and become his queen.

Galadrid Damodred
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Prince of Andor, Officer of the Children fo the Light, Lord of House Damodred.

Tall and slender, he is almost too handsome for masculinity. Women become breathless at the sight of him, even Aes Sedai. Wipcord strength with the grace of a cat, he has dark hair and steady eyes.

A sure confidence, he always does the right thing, even when it hurts - takes doing the right thing beyond humanity. He is a very fast learner, seeing something once and knowing it. This has helped him become a great swordsman. He is thought of well by all Andorans, saving Gawyn's life twice.

He, along with Gawyn, went to the White Tower to train with the Warders. Just prior to the Tower coup, he joined the Children of the Light through then Lord Captain Eamon Valda. This took him back to Gheldan where he ran into Elayne and Nynaeve coming from Tanchico. He commandeered a boat to help Elayne escape, starting riots with the Prophet's people - all in the name of doing the right thing.

His father was Taringail and his mother, Tigraine. His half brothers are Gawyn and Rand, his half sister is Elayne. His step mother is Morgase.

Laman Damodred
Allegiance: The Light, Power.
Title(s): King of Cairhien, High Seat of House Damodred.

The famous King of Cairhien who took the throne in 965 NE.

He helped Taringail to marry Tigraine, which gained a treaty between Andor and Cairhien. But he also wanted Taringail to be the sole ruler of Andor. Tigraine then disappeared, and Laman believed Andor was trying to get out of the treaty to weaken House Damodred. Then word came to Cairhien that Taringail had no influence over Morgase at all.

Perceptions of House Damodred's weakness gained strength, and plots to unseat Laman started. As well, his own perception of strength lessened, with his plan to have Taringail as Andor's ruler seemingly quashed.

Laman started plotting himself to show that House Damodred was as strong as ever. As a small part of this, he cut down Avendoraldera to make a throne unlike any other - the tree of life for a throne. When the Aiel heard their gift to Cairhien had been destroyed, they sent four clans over the dragonwall to assasinate Laman in 976 NE. After three years of bloody conflict, Laman was finally killed on the third day of The Battle of the Shining Walls in 978 NE.

Laman was uncle to both Taringail and Moiraine.

Taringail Damodred
Allegiance: Himself, Power.
Title(s): First Prince of the Sword of Andor, Prince of Cairhien, Lord of House Damodred.

He married Tigraine to get closer to power, but lost out when she disappeared. During the succession he looked to marry the winner so that he would become Prince Consort again. He married Morgase, which furthered her cause and his own. A cold and distant man, there was no love between them.

As soon as Morgase was secure on the throne, she made sure Taringail knew he was not her partner in power (as may have been the case with Tigraine), but he was simply the husband. Word of this relationship got out and Laman started plotting to reverse the perception that this had weakend House Damodred which led to Laman's Sin.

After the Aiel War, there was a shuffling of Houses in Cairhien leading to House Riatin taking the throne. With Taringail's dream of a son on the throne of Cairhien and a daughter in Andor ended, he started plotting to take the throne of Andor for himself. He intended to kill Morgase and be Andor's first king. Thom found out about this, and Taringail was killed in 984 NE in a hunting accident.

Before he died, he fathered Elayne and Gawyn by Morgase. He had earlier fathered Galad by Tigraine. He spent little time with Elayne and Gawyn, but spent alot of time with Galad. His personal sign was a golden double-bitted battle axe.
