"Malkier. Peace favor her memory, and the Light illumine her name."

al'Akir Mandragoran
Allegiance: The Light, Malkier.
Title(s): Lord of the Seven Towers, Lord of the Lakes, King of the Malkieri, Diademed Battle Lord of Malkier, Akir Dai Shan.

The last crowned King of Malkier. Father of Lan, husband of Leanna and brother of Lain.

As close to Lain as brothers could be, but he outshone Lain as a man and a king. This was a bur to Lain's wife, Breyan, who was jealous that her husband was not King.

This jealousy caused the downfall of Malkier: when the trollocs invaded Malkier, Akir was unable to rally the people, who were distrought after Lain's death.

When Cowin Gemallan, who had betrayed Malkier to the shadow, was brought to the Seven Towers in chains, Akir slew him in hand to hand combat and wept when he had done it.

After this, Akir with his wife, Leanna, put the sword of the Malkieri Kings in Lan's infant hands and swore the oath of Malkieri Kings in his name. They sent Lan to Fal Moran with twenty of Malkier's best swordsmen.

Akir and Leanna led the Malkieri to face the shadow one last time, and were defeated and died at Herot's Crossing. Malkier was overrun by trollocs and has since been swallowed by the Blight.

Breyan Mandragoran
Allegiance: Herself, Power.

The wife of Lain, Breyan was wracked by jealousy that Akir was King and not her husband.

Because of her envy, she dared Lain to go into the blasted lands with his lances. He did so and was killed along with most of his men. She blamed Akir for his death and plotted with Cowin Gemallan to sieze the Seven Towers, not knowing of his allegiance.

Together they stripped the border forts to take the Seven Towers from The King. This allowed for Cowin's treachery.

Malkier was soon overrun with trollocs, and Breyan fled south with her infant son, Isam, but were soon overrun. Her fate is unknown but suspected to be unpleasant.

Bukama Marenellin
Allegiance: The Light, Lan Mandragoran, Malkier.

As tall as Lan, with blue eyes on a weathered face that had a perminant scowl. His hair fell to his shoulders and was held back by a leather braid - the hadori. The hero of Salmarna, he always found something to complain about.

Twenty of Malkier's best swordsmen carried Lan to Fal Moran from Malkier. Only five reach the city, all wounded. Bukama was one of the survivers, carrying Lan on his back. He, along with the surviving men raised Lan and taught him all they knew about weapons, fighting and the Malkieri. Bukama was the last of them alive.

He was killed with a dagger in the heart by Ryne Venamar for taking too much interest in Merean Redhill soon after the Aiel War.

Cowin Gemallan
Allegiance: The Dark One.
Title(s): Great Lord of Malkier, Fairheart, Darkfriend.

A hero from Malkier, who was almost as loved as Akir. His deeds in the blight were told in song and story. But he lost the Kingship to Akir by two votes of the Lords, and never forgot it.

When Breyan decided to take the throne for Isam, she plotted with Cowin. He stripped the border forts and tried to sieze the Seven Towers. But with the border forts almost empty, he betrayed Malkier to the shadow, and trolloc hords swept into Malkier.

His allegiance now known, a young Jain Farstrider captured him and brought him to the Seven Towers in chains. As punishment, he was killed in hand to hand combat by King al'Akir.

His treachery cost the world of Malkier which has since been swallowed by the Blight.

Edeyn ti Gemallen Arrel
