Formerly his long face was stunningly handsome, but he now has many age deep creases and little hair - all of it grey and cut short. He is tall with broad shoulders, a skillful swordsman and intelligent. His voice is rich and deep and warming - it seems to upset the wits of many woman. He is utterly devoted to his wife, Menuki.
Paitar, along with Ethenielle, Tenobia and Easar, went on an expedition together taking half their armies with them. They exchanged their blood with the earth, binding themselves together, "one to the death."
The brother of Kiruna, his favorite grandaughter married Ethenielle's son.
