"Why, three of them up and announced they weren't Children of the Light anymore.
They took off their cloaks and just rode away." Lan grunted. "Whitecloaks swear for life."

Abdel Omerna
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Lord Captain, Annointed of the Light, Spymaster.

Tall and commanding, he was always calm, exuding confidence and competance. He had a bold, fearless face and strong chin with waves of white at his temples. His eyes were dark and had a deep smoothly flowing voice.

An adequate commander but needed to be told what to do. Pedron Niall made him Spymaster as a decoy for Sebban Balwer. He believed anything he heard, taking any rumor as fact.

Eamon Valda had him kill Pedron Niall, and Abdel was then killed by Valda on the spot for treason.

Asidim Faisar
Allegiance: The Children of Light.

He was sent to Tarabon by Pedron Niall to make sense of what was occuring. He was hidden by Varadin once there.

Canvele
Title(s): Lord Captain, Annointed of the Light.

He supported Eamon Valda for Lord Captain Commander, with a bit of urging.

Dain Bornhald
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Officer.

Narrow pinched face and an arrogant unblinking look. Daring and swift to act, he has little of his father's intelligence and also has the ferver of zeal in his eyes.

Informed by Jaret Byar that Perrin was responsible for his father's death, he set out to bring Perrin to justice and upset most Two Rivers people in trying.

After this unsuccesful venture, and helped by the presence of Ordeith, he delved into the bottle. We are yet to see if he crawled out again.

Dimir Faral
Allegiance: Padan Fain.

A former Whitecloak under Dain Bornhald, he became one of Padan Fain's fiends. He was set to watch the ambush of Rand and report. Rand had him watch his fellows hang before sending him to report to Pedron Niall.

Eamon Valda
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Lord Captain Commander, Anointed of the Light.

Bombastic to extremes and always in a fury. Impatient, he will slaughter innocent people simply to gain time. He isn't interested in proof before he does anything. He hates Questioners thinking them cowards.

A reasonable battle commander, except his idea of tactics is the charge, and his idea of strategy is the charge. He wouldn't know what subtlety means.

He set up Abdel Omerna to kill Pedron Niall, and then killed Omerna an instant later for treason. He was raised to Lord Captain Commander with the support of Rhadam Asunawa. Since the Seanchan took Amador, he has tried fighting with no success, mostly managing to save some of his force and escape. He has 9000 Children still around him.

Earwin
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.

A large man with long mustaches. A former soldier who served under Geofram Bornhald. He was then recruited by the Questioners and became a nasty, ruthless killer under Jaichim Carridin.

Einor Saren
Title(s): Inquisitor.

Tall, with a hook nose and the gleam of certainty in his eyes. He was second to Jaichim Carridin on Almoth Plain.

Faisar
Allegiance: The Children of Light.

A messenger sent by Pedron Niall to Tarabon to confirm what was happening there. He was able to send a message that the Seanchan were coming, but no-one found out.

Farran
Allegiance: The Light.
Title(s): Hundredman.

A sadistic officer under Dain Bornhald in the Two Rivers. He despises Tinkers. Thick bodied, he is as big as Haral Luhhan, but isn't very smart.

Geofram Bornhald
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Lord Captain, Anointed of the Light.

He had grey hair, dark eyes and blunt fingers. A kindly, bluff, dignified and grandfatherly face. He also had an eye for detail and enjoys craftsmanship.

The best battle commander among the Children, but liked to be sure a person is a Darkfriend before killing them - unusual for Whitecloaks.

The father of Dain Bornhald. He was killed at Falme while leading a thousand of the Children against the Seanchan.

Gomanes
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.

A soldier of the Children of the Light under Dain Bornhald in the Two Rivers. He was killed by Padan Fain.

Ivon
Allegiance: The Light.

Hardfaced. Under Dain Bornhald in the Two Rivers.

Jaichim Carridin
Allegiance: Himself, The Dark One, The Hand of the Light.
Title(s): Bors, Annointed of The Hand of the Light, Lord of House Carridin.
Favorite Saying: Weakness shows cracks that can be manipulated.

Tall. Well into middle years with a touch of grey. A fit and hard man with dark, deep set eyes.

Ambitious and very greedy, like all darkfriends. Very observant, he rarely blinked and had very steady nerves. Extremely patient: he could out wait a stone. He mistakenly thought that any master he had was only temporary - as long as they were useful to him.

He tried to serve too many masters, all who could destroy him, and all who gave him different orders. This has led to the horrible death of all of his family because he didn't kill Rand. These included his cousins, and his sisters Dealda and Vanora.

He failed at everything he was ordered to do, and was eventually killed by Shiaine on the orders of Moridin.

Jaret Byar
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Officer.

Tall with a long, gaunt, expressionless face holding very deeply set eyes that have the light of cruelty and zeal in them. His skin was pulled tightly over muscle and bone. He was strong and moves like a snake with a hard, grating, flat and expressionless voice.

Totally emotionless except he hated Darkfriends. He was rigidly obediant to superiors but was inexperienced in action with absolutely no immagination. He was a good soldier but not a leader.

He was second in command to Geofram Bornhald. After Geofram's death he became second in command to Dain Bornhald transferring all his loyalty from Geofram to Dain.

Jeral
Allegiance: The Children of Light.

Young and stiff, he served under Geofram Bornhald on Almoth Plain.

Joelin
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.

A soldier of the Children of the Light under Dain Bornald in the Two Rivers. He was killed by Padan Fain.

Lothair Mantelar
Allegiance: The Light.
Favorite Saying: Take all joy from rightness, and rightness only.

He founded the Children of Light in FY 1021 and wrote the book, "The Way of the Light."

During the War of a Hundred Years, there was a large increase in Darkfriends. To combat this Lothair started a prayerful group of priests who tried to convert people to the light through evangelism. They would defend themselves when it was necessary, but the necessary times grew until instead of preaching against darkfriends they were fighting them. This conversion took 90 years, and turned them into a totally military organisation committed to seeking out and purging Darkfriends by force. Evangelisim by the sword!

Lucellin
A whitecloak under Dain Bornhald in the Two Rivers.

Muadh
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.

He served under Geofram Bornhald on Almoth Plain. A grizzled man whose face was once mauled by darkfriends. He probably died fighting at Falme.

Norowhin
Allegiance: The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Officer.

In his thirties, he was tall and lanky. He had hard eyes and was not good looking with a thrusting nose and a red face. He lead Morgase's guard when she went out hawking.

Pedron Niall
Allegiance: The Light, Himself, The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Lord Captain Commander, Head of the Council of Anointed.

White hair and thin and reedy voice with skin as thin as scraped parchment, drawn tight by age. He was all bone and sinew, but not at all frail. When he was angry his left eye fluttered.

He believed in cold logic, therefore he believed Tarmon Gai'don will be similar to the Trolloc Wars. He trusted no-one except his secretary, Sebban Balwer, and let no swords into his presence. He also trusted Geofram Bornhald. These qualities probably got him where he was and kept him there for ten years.

He listened to his intuition and had grand schemes to give Almoth Plain and then Tarabon to The Children. He later thought to gather the world behind him and unite them against Tarmon Gai'don. All these plans came to nothing however. Because he was so focused on his plans, he didn't see the harm to the Children that he was doing.

Eamon Valda engineered his death using Abdel Omerna to assasinate him.

Rhadam Asunawa
Allegiance: Himself, The Hand of the Light.
Title(s): High Inquisitor of the Hand of the Light, Annointed of the Light.

Tall and greying with a gaunt face and deep set eyes that had a fervant light. His eyebrows were thick with grey and his voice was soft. He supported Eamon to become Lord Captain Commander.

Sebban Balwer
Allegiance: Pedron Niall.

Narrow and pinched with knobby shoulders. He has a disapproving mouth and a dry voice, like rustling leaves. He drywashes his hands when insulted. He is very quiet, and is able to move silently.

The secretary of Pedron Niall and the real source of information for him. A complete sceptic, he believes nothing until he sees real proof and is able to weed out information from anywhere. His agents convinced Tedosian and Estanda to join Darlin in rebellion against Rand.

When Pedron Niall died, Sebban was told to disappear by Eamon Valda. He disappeared with Morgase and company, and now works for Perrin as a gatherer of information. His hate of Valda is cold, dry and passionless, but no less strong.

Sharbon
Allegiance: The Light.

The servant of Jaichim Carradin in Amador.

Trom
Allegiance: The Children of the Light.
Title(s): Officer.

Square faced and black haired. A Whitecloak stationed with Galad with two knots of rank.

Varadin
Allegiance: The Light, Pedron Niall.

A former rug seller, he was an agent for Pedron Niall during The Troubles. He served so well, he became a merchant in Tanchico selling carpets and wine to the King, the Panarch and nobles. He sent messages to Pedron Niall until his death.

Wuan
Allegiance: The Light, The Children of the Light.

Left handed, pretty face young man with a yellow beard. A former soldier who served under Geofram Bornhald. He was then recruited by the Questioners and became a nasty, ruthless killer underJaichim Carridin.
