Anselan
A storied hero whose love was earned by Barashelle by doing a long and arduous service.

In reality Anselan was chosen as the Warder to Barashelle when she became Aes Sedai during the Trolloc Wars. Being a leather faced, grizzled stone stubborn man, it was never certain who ordered whom.



Barashelle
A storied hero who did a long and arduous service to earn the love of Anselan.

In reality she was an accepted of the White Tower during the Trolloc Wars. She was to be raised to Aes Sedai the next day, and bonded a man so that another would not. When it was discovered she was not allowed to take the test. Instead she was forced to pass the bond to another, and spent three years as a scullery maid.

When she was finally allowed to become Aes Sedai, the Amyrlin chose her Warder, which was Anselan, a grizzled stone stubborn man. It was never certain who ordered whom.



Bili
The subject of a children's tale, called "Bili under the Hill." He went on an adventure, was given three answers, and came back to find ten years had passed.



Blaes of Matuchin
Allegiance: The Light.

Strong as the ash tree, lithe as the willow branch and beautiful as the rose with golden hair. She was a hunter for The Horn, and now known in gleeman's tales.

She lived in Matuchin Hall and was ready to die before she yielded to the Dark One.



Boanne
Title(s): Song Mistress at Taralan.

She wrote "Do'in Toldara te, Songs of the Last Age Quarto Nine: The Legend of the Dragon" during the Forth Age.



Buad of Albhain
He was in a gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin.



Comadrin
A general who wrote a book about war. He lived approximately 300s FY.



Daria Gahand
She wrote "Essays on Reason."



Darith
Title(s): King.

Darvan
A man who supposedly wants Elmindreda's hand, but she couldn't decide between him and Goemal. A person created to keep Min in the Tower.



Dunsinin
Allegiance: The Light, Rogosh Eagle-Eye.

She made a bargain with Rogosh Eagle-Eye, and so placed a rose on his grave every year on Sunday.



Eben Vande
The author of "The History of the Stone of Tear."



Ellaine Marise'idin Alshinn
Title(s): Chief Librarian at the Court of Arafel.

She translated The Karaethon Cycle in 231 NE.



Eurian Romvani
The Kandori author who wrote "A Journey to Tarabon" in 945 NE.



Farede
Title(s): First Panarch of Tarabon.

Farede took the calender developed by Uren din Jubai and adopted it as the official one hoping for Tarabon to become the intellectual centre of the world. After this it came into wide spread use, adopted by all of Randland.



Ghoetam
A man who, in a story, sat beneath Avendesora for forty years to gain wisdom with his food being brought to him by birds.



Goemal
A man who supposedly wants Elmindreda's hand, but she couldn't decide between him and Darvan. A person created to keep Min in the Tower.



Hu
An irascible old farmer and the subject of a joke told by Rand along with his neighbour Wil.



Ivonell Bharatiya
An author who wrote about Dark Hounds during the ABs.



Jaem
Title(s): Giant Slayer.

He was in a gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin.



Jain Charin
Allegiance: The Light.
Title(s): Farstrider.

A Malkieri adventurer who has travelled far and wide authoring many books including "The Travels of Jain Farstrider," which was published in 968 NE, and is also the subject of many stories. He has travelled to Shara and with the Seafolk.

He first became famous during the fall of Malkier when, as young man, he captured Cowin Gemallan and brought him in chains to al'Akir at the Seven Towers.

He most recently went on an expedition into the blight in 981 NE during which he met Ba'alzamon and was told that the Dark One was going to break the Eye of the World and recreate the world in his own image. He disappeared soon after that expedition, appearing in Stedding Shangtai, quite sick and weak. The Ogier helped him to heal, and 6 months later he set off for Tar Valon to inform Aes Sedai of what the Dark One intended. The Ogier were unaware of who he was. His current location is uncertain.



Jeorad Manyard
Allegiance: Artur Hawkwing.
Title(s): Governor.

The Governor of Andor under Artur Hawkwing. He translated "The Prophecies of the Dragon."



Kadar
Title(s): King.

One of the foolish kings along with Orander and Madel in the story: Mara and the Three Foolish Kings.



Karil
A woman in a gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin. She was a goodwife who cured her husband of snoring.



Kirukan
Allegiance: The Light.
Title(s): Queen.

A beautiful soldier Queen from the Trolloc Wars and the namesake of the Sword of Kirukan, the ancient power-wrought sword wielded by the Commander of Kandor's army. The story says she once beheaded a false dragon, and had two sons by another channeling man.

In actuality, she had "a temper like a boar caught in briars" on a good day.



Kyera Termendal
A poet who translated the Prophecies of the Dragon in approximately 700 to 800 FY. She was from Shiota.



Lenn
A person from a gleeman's tale from before the Age of Legends, as mentioned by Thom Merrilin. He flew to the moon in the belly of an eagle made of fire. He is also the father of Salya.



Lian
Lian's Stand is a gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin.



Madel
Title(s): King.

One of the foolish kings along with Orander and Kadar in the story: Mara and the Three Foolish Kings.



Mara
Linked with the Three Foolish Kings: Madel, Orander and Kadar. A popular gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin. She came from the town of Heape, and outwitted the three Kings with little trouble.

Title(s): The Healer.

This person composed the song, "Glory of the Dragon" in the Fourth Age.

She had a rooster that is the subject of a song: Mistress Aynora's Rooster.

Title(s): The Giant.

He had a lance of fire that could reach around the world. He warred with Alsbet, Queen of All, as well as Merk. A gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin.



N'Delia Basolaine
Title(s): First Maid.

The First Maid and Swordfast to Raidhen of Hol Cuchone. She translated part of the Prophecy of the Dragon in circa 400AB.



Orander
Title(s): King.

One of the foolish kings along with Madel and Kadar in the story: Mara and the Three Foolish Kings.



Rhiannon
Title(s): Queen.

In the story "Rhiannon at the Tower," she announced who she was and received less than she wanted. She was apparently humbled by the Tower.



Rosel of Essam
Allegiance: The Light.

An author from about 200 years after the Breaking of the world, she wrote about a book that "held secrets the world could not face". The book is presumed to be about the forsaken. Only part of one page now exists, held by Verin Mathwin, it pertains to Ishamael being Ba'alzamon.



Salya
A woman in a gleeman's tale from before the Age of Legends, as mentioned by Thom Merrilin. The daughter of Lenn, she walked among the stars.



Santhra
A woman who wrote a book on The Forsaken.



Sereine dar Shamelle Motara
Title(s): Counsel-Sister.

The counsellor and sister of the High Queen of Jaramide, Comaelle. She wrote "Commentaries on the Kareathon Cycle" around 325 AB.



Sevlana Meseau
A famous hero from history.



Someshta
Allegiance: The Light, Aes Sedai.
Title(s): The Green Man, The Last of the Nym.

12-13 feet tall. A man shape of woven vines and leaves green and growing with deep voice. His hair was grass flowing to his shoulders. His eyes were hazel nuts and his fingers, acorns. Tunic and trousers were made of green leaves and seamless bark made up his boot. A deep fissure ran across his cheek and temple and over his head in which the vines were brown and wilted, causing loss in memory.

The Nym lived to grow things. Someshta was the keeper of the Eye of the World, and the garden that surrounds it, known as the Green Man. He was set to wait for the day when pure saidin would be needed by Rand. He could only be summoned by need, but would be found in the Blight, usually beyond the high passes.

He was killed by Aginor, but in dying, he managed to kill Balthamel, creating an ancient oak tree where he died. Loial sung to the tree so that the Blight would not consume it.



Soran Milo
An author who wrote the book, "Killers of the Blackveil." He wrote the book circa 400 NE, and based it on the Aiel who came to trade at stedding. He got most of it wrong.



Sorelana Alsahhan
An author who wrote about Dark Hounds during the Trolloc Wars.



Sulamein so Bhagad
Title(s): Chief Historian at the Court of the Sun.

He wrote "The Wheel of Time" during the Fourth Age.



Sun King
A character in a story. He woke Talia from a long sleep with a kiss.



Susa
The woman who "tamed Jain Farstrider." A gleeman's tale as mentioned by Thom Merrilin.



Talia
A character in a story. She was woken from a long sleep by the Sun King with a kiss.



Teven Aerwin
The woman who wrote "The Dance of the Hawk and the Hummingbird." A book that sets forth the proper conduct of men towards women and women towards men. Not read in seriousness.



Taim of Gazar
He developed the Gazaran Calendar celebrating each year the world was free of trollocs after the Trolloc Wars.



Toma dur Ahmid
He devised the Toman Calendar which was adopted approximately 200 years after the death of the last Male Aes Sedai.



Uren din Jubai Soaring Gull
A scholar from the Sea Folk who devised a calendar after the War of the Hundred Years. The calendar was officially announced by Farede, the Panarch of Tarabon, and named the Farede Calendar. The Calendar celebrated the years after the war as a New Era.



Wil
The neighbour of Hu, whom he doesn't get along with. The subjects of a joke told by Rand to prove he had a sense of humour.



Willim of Manaches
The author of the book, The Essays of Willim of Manaches
