Hot water might have been the greatest single gift of civilization. | |||
Allegiance: The Light, Andor, Egwene al'Vere, Rand al'Thor. Title(s): Aes Sedai, Daughter-Heir of Andor, High Seat of House Trakand, Morelin of House Samared. Tall for a woman, and as beautiful as Egwene. A perfect oval face framed by a mass of red-gold sunburst curls of spun gold hair. Full red lips like plump love apples and very blue eyes, like sapphires. Straight back, with supple and strong limbs. Her skin is smoother than finest silk. A fine and well-rounded bosom. Elayne has a self possessed and lofty attitude, expecting to be obeyed. Sometimes given to haughtyness and swearing. She actually works at increasing her swearing vocabulary. Practical and to the point with both feet on the ground and few flights of fancy, just like her mother. However she can be a little too proper at times. Born of Morgase Trakand and Taringail Damodred. Taringail died a few years later. She had, for a time, Thom as a father figure. When he left, she was raised totally by Morgase and Lini, her nurse. She was raised to be the ruler of Andor, understanding the citizens and what they need. She first met Rand when he fell into the palace garden. She fell in love with him immediately, but would have to wait awhile. She was born with the spark of channeling in her and went to the Tower to become Aes Sedai. There she became friends with Egwene, Nynaeve and Min. Liandrin took her to Falme with Egwene, Nynaeve and Min intending her for a damane. She and Nynaeve managed to free Egwene and Min from the Seanchan. When she returned to the White Tower she was raised to Accepted. She, Egwene and Nynaeve then hunted the Black Ajah. This took them to Tear where they were captured and then rescued by Mat and Juilin Sandar. Whilst in Tear, she informed Rand of her affection and had it returned in kind. She and Nynaeve then, with Thom and Juilin, followed the Black Ajah to Tanchico, where she helped Amathera to regain the Panarchy. They then left for Tar Valon, going through Amadicia where they joined a travelling menagerie, Elayne becoming a highwalker. During their time in the menagerie, Birgitte was ripped out of Tel'aran'rhiod by a rather angry Moghedien. Seeing no other way to help her, Elayne bonded Birgitte. The first female Warder in a long time, maybe ever. She went to Ebou Dar and found the Bowl of Winds with Nynaeve. They made a terribly one sided bargain with the Sea Folk, captured a Black Sister and apologised to Mat for their behaviour, offering themselves for his protection. Elayne also picked up some more swear words. She was a member of the circle that worked the Bowl of Winds. Once the Kin's farm had been evacuated ahead of the advancing Seanchan, the gateway she created was collapsed. It exploded, the blast destroying the Kin's farm and all structures around it completely for 100 paces. She helped lead all the Sea Folk and Kin to Caemlyn where Elayne immediately moved into the royal palace and put forward her claim for the Rose Crown. She has made Birgitte her Captain-General until Gawyn can be found. Her personal sigal is a lily. The fight for the throne: Dyelin has thrown her support behind Elayne, giving her only one confirmed House backing her, with six against. "Nineteen houses in Andor are strong enough that smaller houses will follow where they lead." I am only certain of fourteen, listed below. Dyelin has mentioned three houses who will support Trakand, yet they have previously stated they support House Taravin, and Elayne believes the three great houses in Murandy also support Dyelin, which they do. The plot thickens. Elenia Sarand and Naean Arawn have been kidnapped, and their supporting houses have arrived at Caemlyn to assist Arymilla Marne in the siege of Caemlyn. So Arymilla's supporters, possibly Nasin, no doubt have Elenia and Naean under guard, forcing their supporters to assist Arymilla.
