"Narg stay Narg smart." The words were distorted and hard to understand,
coming from a mouth never meant for human speech.

Gholam
A non-descript man, slightly above average height. It flows as it moves and can squeeze through small cracks. Ordinary weapons don't hurt it, and the One Power has no effect on it. It feeds on blood, but lives to kill, especially the one who hurt it - Mat.

Machin Shin
Allegiance: Death.
Title(s): The Black Wind.

A wind bred of the ways that swallows souls. A part of the corruption of the ways, or perhaps grew because of the corruption.

A simple wind, that travels through the ways searching indescriminately for souls. If the wind finds you, it will either send you mad, kill you or take your soul. It loves death and all that goes with it. There are voices in the wind that preach of death and destruction.

It once met Padan Fain, they understood each other before the wind fled, taking some of Fain with it. It is now attracted to Rand.

Mordeth
Allegiance: Himself.
Title(s): Counsellor to King Balwen.

Sleek and overfed with drooping eyelids. Short and completely bald but he walks as if tall. He wore tight black breeches, soft red boots ankle height, a long red and gold waistcoat and a snowy white shirt with wide sleeves and hanging cuffs. Able to shapeshift and turn into Mashadar, he has no shadow.

During the Trolloc Wars, he became cousellor and second to the King of Aridhol. He preached hardening to the King, and soon sent the King mad with his counsel. Aridhol, following his counsel, turned in on itself becoming hard and abandoning the light.

When Caar and the embassy from Manetheren arrived, he ordered their deaths as Friends of the Dark. When Caar escaped, Mordeth sent his "unnatural" assasins after him but without result.

When Aridhol died, he was snared by Mashadar and then waited for 2000 years until someone accompanied him to the city gates so he could take their body and live in the world again. That someone was Padan Fain. But instead of taking over his body, the two merged so that both souls now exist in the same body. He was able to squeeze through cracks in the same way as a gholam.

Mashadar
The evil born of the people of Aridhol by their suspicion and hate. It manefests as a fog in the city of Aridhol (Shadar Logoth), and will destroy and disintergrate any organisim it comes into contact with.

Narg
Allegiance: The Dark One, Myrddraal.

A trolloc with long sharp stained teeth in a wolf's muzzel. Flat, emotionless and sunken eyes. Hairy pointed ears that twitched incessantly and sharp goat hooves. Able to speak human tongue.

On winter night when trollocs attacked the al'Thor farm house, Narg pretended to be dead and confronted Rand when he returned to the house. Narg first asked Rand to come with him and then attacked him. Rand, carrying Tam's sword was able to raise the sword so that Narg lunged onto the blade, running him through.

The only time in the series that a trolloc has spoken the human tongue, and so far, the only trolloc whose name we have learned.

Shaidar Haran
Allegiance: The Dark One.
Title(s): Hand of the Dark, fade, lurk, fetch, souless, half-man, eyeless.

A myrddraal that is head and shoulders taller than other Myrddraal. He has the usual skills of a myrddraal, such as moving through shadows and sending fear with a look of his eyeless face.

The Hand of the Dark One, he speaks for the Dark One. What he says is the word of the Dark One. To obey him is to obey the Dark One. Although he is a myrddraal, he has a sense of humor.

He can smell the difference between Saidar and Saidin. He wants to sever his tie with Shayol Ghul, not being able to be away from there long.

Slayer
Allegiance: The Dark One?.
Title(s): Luc, Isam, Lord of Chiendelna.

Usually in the waking world, he is in the form of Luc, and in the World of Dreams he is Isam. Although he can take on either form in Tel'aran'rhoid. Luc is tall and broad shouldered, in his middle years and very arrogant. Arrogant dark blue eyes on a hard angular face and dark reddish hair with white at the temples, looking similar to Rand. Isam looks similar to Lan.

According to Dark Prophecy, Isam's soul may have been placed in Luc's body, however both still are. Slayer killed Janduin when he came into the blight.

Later, he turned up calling himself Luc of Chiendelna and set to kill Padan Fain in the Two Rivers at which he failed. He was also afraid of Perrin.

He is able to enter and exit the Tower of Genji at will, even in Tel'aran'rhoid and enters the World of Dreams in the flesh. He is still hunting Padan Fain, but will do odd jobs for others on the side - he recently tried to kill Rand and Min. He has many gifts, but not immunity to weapons and was the one who killed the Gray Man in the White Tower, and he also killed Amico Nagoyin and Joiya Byir in the Stone of Tear.
